Cornish photographer Jack Johns describes himself laconically as a: ‘Jack of all trades, master of none’. Yet his humility belies an unyielding passion for wild places and the folks that inhabit them. Jack’s oeuvre effortlessly straddles the bipolar worlds of haute fashion/travel and the brutally numb peripheries of the cold-water surfing scene. His work sings when it is presented from the fringe, and it is within these regions that he is most at home. The work presented here is a celebration of that spirit – between the gaps and outside the margins, but always presented with delicate honesty and poise.
